Northridge Middle School Medical and Health Careers Magnet
Northridge Middle School Medical and Health Careers Magnet has been named a National Merit School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools.
At Northridge Medical and Health Careers Magnet (NMHCM), our vision is to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the 21st century, while fostering a deep interest in medical and health careers. The goal of the Northridge Medical and Health Careers Magnet (NMHCM) program is to prepare students for future success in higher education and careers in the medical and health fields by focusing on developing critical thinking, collaboration, communication, adaptability, and technology literacy—essential skills in modern healthcare.
Dr. Piedad Sanchez will be recognized and receive a National Merit School of Distinction Award on behalf of the school during an awards ceremony held at Magnet Schools of America’s National Conference April 7-10, 2025, in Nashville.
To receive a national merit award, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.
